In Luke 19:10 the Lord said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” This is what evangelism was then, is today and must always be! Our number one priority must be to go to Heaven. Jesus stated in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Our soul is the most precious thing we have. There is nothing worth trading for it. We read in Matthew 16:26, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

The Lord doesn’t want anyone to be lost. God “desires all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” – I Timothy 2:4. We are to do more than obey the Bible for ourselves; we are to share this wonderful news with all that we have opportunity to do so! The Lord speaks to every Christian in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

We have many tools to use and many opportunities. As in the “days of ole,” what is needed is laborers! Luke 10:2 states, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.” The Lord said in John 4:35-38, ”Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor: other men labored, and ye are entered into their labours.”

May we all be laborers!
